You came into this world, wide-eyed with curiosity and awe. And growing up, you loved without reservation. With joy bubbling in your chest, you ran around the open field. The world was your playground.

But somewhere along the way, you forgot yourself. You started sleepwalking.

Because to sleepwalk through life is easy. Exhaustion, social norms, fear – these create a wall between you and the world… Between you and your heart. You protect and sabotage yourself: avoiding pain, controlling, trying to look good, or be right. Until that zest for life is forgotten.

You hit the snooze button one more time. It’s comfortable here.

But with time, you start waking up. Each new decision leads you closer to the core. You begin trusting your heart again.

You create a home with no fences. And build a room for creativity. A room for growth. A room for family and friends to gather. A room for gratitude. A garden sanctuary to connect with spirit. A room for work. And instead of a room for love, you let love flow freely throughout and be the fuel for everything you do. Then, let it overflow to the rest of the world.

Walk through your home as you walk through life, entering each room one by one.

Let love drive your highest thoughts, grandest emotions, and greatest dreams. You share this love through art – the majestic art of your life: your thoughts, words, and actions. With everything you do and everything you are, you’re creating anew. You realize you’re creating the exact experience of your life.

And when your heart starts closing, remember instead to trust. Each time you surrender, you grow in love. You’ll see you have this blinding, boundless love in your heart. There’s abundance. It’s overflowing, as it always has. Growth comes when you let this love expand.

“Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights. But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart’s knowledge. You would know in words that which you have always known in thought. You would touch with your fingers the naked body of your dreams.” – Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

More friends and family gather in your love-filled home. You’re quick to forgive, even quicker to laugh. The silly things don’t matter anymore. With less judging eyes, you see beauty in others. You’ve given love, only to find that it has come back to surround you.

Look for beauty in the simplicity. Suddenly, it becomes easy to feel grateful for what’s in front of you. Gratitude erases the anxieties, radiating with warmth that spreads out of your heart. And when you can feel grateful for the pain, you know you’ve arrived.

Walk in your garden sanctuary and let the peaceful breeze rejuvenate you. Have you seen anything as awesome as this sunset? When you zoom out of the ups and downs, you remember there are billions of people on this planet and you’re just a dot in the greatness of time. You struggle to remember this when your worries, excuses, and exhaustion seem greater than the universe.

With the hours of your day, give your heart to your work. Give, through your work. Work is a powerful channel for your love to touch the lives of others. When the work you do feels right in your heart, you come alive with love.

“You work that you may keep pace with the earth and the soul of the earth… When you work you fulfill a part of earth’s furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born, And in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life, And to love life through labour is to be intimate with life’s inmost secret.”  – Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

And through older eyes, you look at the home you’ve lovingly built and break it down. This isn’t your home anymore.

See, this whole wide world is our home. It’s not just yours, it’s Ours. We can savor and share it all. We can play here. The full range of human emotions, experiences, and dreams is available to us. Outside of the walls, love connects us all. And we remember that love is all there ever was, and is.

Let Our life be an expression of love. And through death, let it shatter our walls and lead us back home.
